An end-to-end digital transformation, RESTful API architecture, and mobile engineering project executed for Humus (Humus African Locator). The project focused on digitizing legacy paper cemetery records into a secure cloud-hosted database, paired with a custom mobile application and web portal. The solution allows users to preserve digital memorials, store precise automated coordinates, and remotely manage gravesite locations from anywhere in the world.
Our Scope of Work & Deliverables
We engineered a complete digital infrastructure, data pipeline, and multi-platform application ecosystem:
- Paper-to-Database Record Digitization: Managed the structural digitization and data-cleaning process to migrate hardcopy cemetery archives and legacy paper records into a structured cloud database architecture.
- RESTful API & Cloud Infrastructure: Built a secure RESTful API backend to sync mobile app interactions with the central database, enabling automated cloud coordinate storage, real-time profile publishing/unpublishing, and account management.
- Mobile Application Engineering (iOS & Android): Developed an intuitive m-health/memorial application featuring GPS location input, digital memorial profile creation, media/photo upload capabilities, and interactive navigation vectors.
- Web Portal & Value-Added Services Integration: Designed a responsive web portal and booking engine to support ancillary services including online grief counseling bookings, gravesite maintenance coverage, and subscription tier management (Humus Plus).
